WHO WE ARE
The company’s industrial roots date back to 1949, when the original superphosphate plant was completed using sulfuric acid generated from nearby zinc production. In 1968, following the closure of fertilizer production, an agreement with Årdal og Sunndal Verk (later Hydro) led to the development of aluminium fluoride production, officially started in 1970 under the name “Fluoriden”.
Over the decades, the site evolved together with the Norwegian aluminium industry, becoming a well-established industrial presence in Odda. In 1997, following an internal naming competition, the company officially became NORALF. Since 2016, NORALF has been part of Fluorsid Group and today continues its industrial development with a strong focus on sustainability, operational efficiency and long-term industrial growth.
